First comes the life, then comes the self-deception

The life is full of surprises and the self-deception is always there to make us believe what we want to believe.

We all want to believe that we are special and that our lives are more important than others. We want to believe that we are the center of the universe and that everything revolves around us.

The self-deception is what allows us to believe these things.

The self-deception is what allows us to live in our own little world where we are the star and everything else is just background noise.

The self-deception is what allows us to ignore the pain and suffering of others. It is what allows us to turn a blind eye to the suffering of the world.

The self-deception is what allows us to live in our own little bubble and pretend that everything is okay.

But eventually, the bubble always bursts. Eventually, we are forced to confront reality. Eventually, we are forced to face the truth.

And when that happens, it can be a very painful experience.

Ten reasons why self-deception can be a painful experience:

1. It can lead to disappointment.

When we believe that we are special and that our lives are more important than others, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. We are setting ourselves up for a fall.

2. It can lead to disillusionment.

When we believe that we are the center of the universe and that everything revolves around us, we are setting ourselves up for disillusionment. We are setting ourselves up for a rude awakening.

3. It can lead to frustration.

When we believe that we can control everything and that we are always right, we are setting ourselves up for frustration. We are setting ourselves up for a lot of anger and frustration.

4. It can lead to misery.

When we believe that we are the only ones who matter and that everyone else is just background noise, we are setting ourselves up for misery. We are setting ourselves up for a life of loneliness and isolation.

5. It can lead to regret.

When we ignore the pain and suffering of others, we are setting ourselves up for regret. We are setting ourselves up for a life full of regret and guilt.

6. It can lead to resentment.

When we live in our own little world and pretend that everything is okay, we are setting ourselves up for resentment. We are setting ourselves up for a life of resentment and bitterness.

7. It can lead to self-pity.

When we believe that we are victims and that the world is against us, we are setting ourselves up for self-pity. We are setting ourselves up for a life of self-pity and self-loathing.

8. It can lead to envy.

When we believe that others have it better than us, we are setting ourselves up for envy. We are setting ourselves up for a life of jealousy and covetousness.

9. It can lead to despair.

When we believe that there is no hope, we are setting ourselves up for despair. We are setting ourselves up for a life of despair and hopelessness.

10. It can lead to death.

When we believe that life is not worth living, we are setting ourselves up for death. We are setting ourselves up for suicide.

The self-deception is a dangerous thing. It can lead us down a dark and painful path. It can destroy our lives.

So be careful. Be aware of the self-deception. Don’t let it control you.
